Purpose of the 2026 Virtual Talent Summit

Talent and HR in K-12 schools and mission-driven organizations have become increasingly complex, particularly given widespread budget constraints, shifting political landscapes, and workforce evolution across sectors. Join leaders from schools, districts, nonprofits, and foundations for a focused, three-hour virtual convening on how to build talent & HR systems that are fair, sustainable, and built to last, particularly in the age of AI. Choose your depth in every session, and leave with tools you can use by Monday.

Who Should Attend

Superintendents, network and school leaders, chief talent and people officers, HR and operations leaders, and funders…or anyone responsible for how their organization recruits, pays, develops, and keeps great people. Whether you are just at the beginning of your HR and Talent journey, or stress-testing a mature system, there is a track for you.

New in 2026!

  • Two levels in every session. Choose Foundations or Advanced for each topic, so the content meets you where you are.
  • 3 months of free access to the Talent Playbook Pro. All participants who register and attend the 2026 VTS will receive 3 months of free access to the Talent Playbook Pro
  • Organized around what you actually need. Three breakout topics in key talent areas: compensation, performance management, and strategic staffing,
  • AI, woven throughout. Practical AI and technology in talent work shows up in the keynote and runs through every session
  • Built on national data. Advanced compensation, benefits, and staffing content draws on EdFuel’s 10 years of national charter-school benchmark data.

The Three Primary Topics:

Each is offered in the Foundations and Advanced tracks; attend two sessions across the day.

  • Compensation System Design —  Build clear, equitable pay structures, and, at the Advanced level, benchmarking, total rewards, and pay-equity audits.
  • Performance Management System Design —  Evaluation frameworks that support growth, accountability, and role clarity; Advanced covers calibration and competency models.
  • Strategic Workforce Planning & Staffing Models —  Move beyond headcount to intentional workforce design; Advanced tackles scenario modeling and agile staffing.
