deLaski Talent Recruitment Fellowship

Through capacity building, deLaski fellowship schools will partner with EdFuel to develop a differentiated recruiting strategy and build the systems, habits, and skills needed to sustain it.

The same is true for recruiting. EdFuel’s 2018 DC Citywide Teacher Retention Study

Our Approach

In order to develop a recruiting plan that directly addresses each school’s needs, EdFuel and fellowship schools will build a shared understanding of organizational priorities. After building context and assessing specific organizational needs, EdFuel and fellowship schools will design and implement a differentiated recruiting strategy and pilot plan. Recruiting focus areas will vary depending on the individual needs of each school and may include building a diverse candidate pool, applicant tracking, candidate cultivation, staffing for growth, and social media. The fellowship is only for schools in Washington DC.

What’s in it for schools?

Participants will implement best practice-based new or refined recruitment systems that allow them to better attract high quality, diverse candidates.

Schools will walk away with a differentiated strategy to apply when recruiting for the 2020-2021 school year.

What’s expected of schools?

Each school will identify a project manager who can prioritize successful implementation of fellowship programming. They will facilitate all work with EdFuel and join periodic check-in calls, ~2 hours per week. Schools awarded the fellowship will be asked to make a fully refundable deposit to secure their space. Other school stakeholders will be engaged by the project manager as needed.
